Default Any good fund raising ideas?

As you may know or don't know I am involved in a no kill shelter (not for profit) called PC Pound Puppies. (they are the ones that you helped us win the toyota van. Again thank you)

As you can all imange we are always trying to come up with ways to have fudraisers for to cover the on going expense. Fourtnley we have a vet that works with us that lets us keep on ongoing tab. No dog is turned away due to heath conditions.

In the beginging of Dec we had our annual craft fair that got us out of debt for one day!

No sooner were we celebrating we got stuck with a little bad luck. One dog needed emergcey surgery due to bloat, another had to be rushed for emergcy care due to a spider bite and yet another is waiting eye surgery. Not to mention there are eight dogs waiting treatment for heart worms.
All this adds up to a nice chunk of change.

This is where I need suggestions on some serious fundraisers. We have done the craft fair, bake sale, book sale, couple of resturants have given us 10 % of peoples bills. We are all kind of scratching our heads as for some good suggestions.

If you are truly a non-profit then you should be allowed to run lotteries and raffles. Work with some local retailers to get a decent prize pool and then get out and sell.

Gun raffles with good chances to win (ie. only sell 1000 tickets) will bring in some serious coin.

Many fundraiser setups require a lot of people to get out to sell. Do you have enough people to sell things like candy bars or popcorn or do you need to be able to drop something off at a retailer and hope people buy your fundraiser item off the counter?

Dont know how many volunteers we have. Think most of us work so we do have alot of networking connections.

The only problem is with popcorn and candy bars is everytime you turn around some local school has got a fundraiser type selling food items. Now with the new year everybody starts dieting again

Do like the raffle suggestion. Will see what we can come up with there

get out and educate the local folk whilst showing off the pups in need of new homes...make it fun...educate the kids and if possible get local schools involved in the project.

money is only going to do a temp job whilst a cure is found and the cure is education.

Raffles & Lotteries may require a permit for "Games of Chance" in your state.
