I understand liability laws on consumer products like lawnmowers (don't try to cut your hair with one) but a warning/disclaimer on the US Constitution? Does that seem sort of crazy to anyone else?
"This book is a product of its time and does not reflect the same values as it would if it were written today. Parents might wish to discuss with their children how views on race, gender, sexuality, ethnicity, and interpersonal relations have changed since this book was written before allowing them to read this classic work."

Sounds like a standard disclaimer used for older material. Like for "Tom Sawyer" having the n-word in it and such.

But this is the Constitution of the United States! This is our law of the land, not a work of fiction.

But don't you know there are folks who think it is outdated!:whistling: Or a fluid document open to interpretation:whistling: of course these same folks don't believe muslims are the majority of terrorists either!:w00t2:

Sure, let's bring back slavery, and while we're at it get rid of that pesky women's right to vote thing. Who needs that?!

You got from what seems to be an opinion attempting to masquerade as a disclaimer in a published copy of Constitution to bringing back slavery and ending suffrage?

That's a stretch.

BTW, both of your points are amendments to, and therefore a part of, the US Constitution, and presumably part of this book. Maybe you are right and the alert pertains to those amendments.

Sorry, that statement is yours and yours alone. No co authorship here.

What I meant was I was responding to muleman's comment about the Constitution being outdated. If that weren't true there would be no amendments. Jeez, do I have to spell everything out?
