Look at Candidates Voting Record!!!

Ok.... I hate bullshit. Between Air America and Sean Hannity and all the others that are SALESMEN not reporters or journalists... here is a site that cuts through the bull. WWW.VOTESMART.ORG

So.... instead of saying childish things like emphasising Obamas middle name (Hussain) or kick McCain in the nads for him scewing up his speech or saying he is old, look at their voting record! Spend TIME reading them! Dont be one of the people that vote because youve listened to ALLLLLL the BS surrounding this election!!! I did that in the past and NO MORE! Im NOT going to be made the fool and listen to what media outlets say. Im going by the record for the record and only the record!!!!!!

Well said, Sushi. The media has absconded for themselves the priviledge of determining who the party forerunners are in the elections and have effectively pushed The People out of this process and we have let them by not doing just as you are indicating. I think it will be wise for our countrymen not to continue the trap of a 2 party system and cast votes for a 3rd party candidate. I realize there are a lot of people who are terrified of either McCain or Obama winning the White House because they lost votes to 3rd party candidates. I can't help but believe if the vote is so diluted that either candidate wins they could possibly win by 37% instead of 51-52%. Being elected with such poor support would most likely cripple them from the get go. I think the Congress and Senate would have to stand up and take notice and recognize the country is fed up and their jobs imperiled. There is a possibility they could rush to tighten the net they have cast on us or they will start to listen. A little political revolution might be good for us. We also need to remember the power is with the congress and senate. If there is a majority party in the presidency, house and senate well, that is cause for concern. I cannot endorse either candidate. Both will escort in the same amount of damage just one sooner than the other. I'll be voting Libertarian all the way. We have to have a more balanced representation.

Funny thing is that when most people are polled on specific issues they tend to be far more conservative than politicians that they elect to represent them, but they continue to vote for their representatives anyway!

For example Blacks, when polled on issues, really are moderate Republicans/Conservative Democrats, they just haven't figured that out yet!

I wont disagree but where exactly did you get youre info?

I don't recall the exact source. Before I retired I sat on the board of directors of a couple organizations, they were heavily involved in lobbying and I had access to all sorts of data, studies and reports. It was in one of those that I got that data.

But it does make a lot of sense. Why else would politicians run "right" during campaigns regardless of how they actually vote?

That, of course, would be your myopic perspective. I'll bet whatever poll you cite was *gag* 'bipartisan', if not obviously sponsored by one of the gang of two. I'd say most people are actually Libertarians, and they haven't figured that out yet!

and when we get this worked out and the dumb asses have to run on their own dollar and not someone elses, we will get people who want to do this for the position it is, not the money they get behind the scenes etc.
