Hello,i have some question about the st-4.(1969)
Have heard i should not turn the stering weel while the snow trac i standing,why and what can happend!??
Is the starter motor the same like on the vw beetle?

You should NOT turn the steering wheel on a Snow Trac unless the Snow Trac is moving. The metal housing/gears for the Variator assembly can crack if it wheel is turned because turning the wheel forces the assembly to shift power from one set of tracks to the other set. It can cause serious damage.

The starter is SIMILAR but is NOT exactly the same as the starter on a VW Beetle. If you have a starter problem it is usually easier to re-build the starter than to find a replacement.

Bad things can and will happen. I believe the part is ST-25 but not sure. Its designed to break so as to protect more expensive items. BUT now those are the hard items to find.
