turned into California's deadliest. From the time the fire was first reported until sunset the same day, the fire had travelled 19 miles. That just boggles my mind.

I remember back when a young man, seeing huge tracks of timber with large gaps from clear cut timber operations. Not only did they prevent such calamitous conflagrations, the timber sales funded the forest service operations.

Decades ago, Californian environmentalist politics changed all that. And the poor husbandry that followed has burned thousands of homes and killed hundreds. When you allow the construction of homes and businesses inside the tinder box, you must create firebreaks. After all, the state government owes allegiance to protect the people, not the Sierra Club.

Add thousands of homeless camping in the same unmanaged woods and you have a recipe for such disasters every day. Government policies, not lack of rain put the pieces of this explosion together. And yet they blame it on "Climate Change."

We seldom, if ever, hear of timber companies losing control of their tree farms in such fires. They live on the same planet and endure the same "Climate Change." They know what it means to their future. It's not what they know that makes the difference,,,; it's what they do, and don't do, to manage the resource.

I agree. If the gov't is to allow development inside of tinder boxes then the gov't is to put the citizen first, not lobbyists and other private interest groups.

But isn't that the problem today? The gov't does not put the citizen first, certainly not the Dems. The agenda or progrom if you will comes first. We see that every day from them and they control CA. So, there you have it. The rest of us will continue to pay for their agendas.
