Well, both my kids raced in the Soapbox Derby again yesterday.
They both did fantastic! My son came in 2nd place in the Stock class (of 18 cars) and my daughter came in 1st place in the Super Stock class (of 14 cars).
That 1st place finish earns her a spot in the Nationals in Akron in July.
If that didn't make me proud enough, I had the race Directors as well as several other adults come up to me afterward and tell me how much they appreciated my kids enthusiasm while racing as well as all-around sportsmanship. They would say that the smile on my sons face at the end of each race (whether he won that particular phase or not) is what it's all about.
Just makes my heart swell with pride.
