1960 ( ish) CASE W-9 question

We have a very old CASE W-9 wheel loader, that had some issues plowing last winter. As a result the Leveling link had too be removed. We are in the process of reattaching it but have found the pin has a nut ( inside) of cab will not release. It seems too be a Dutchman Key type.
any tricks too removing this without ruining it???????
help!!!!!!

Are you sure it is a dutchman key and not a taper pin? If a taper you could remove it with a screw extractor. Drill into the pin and set the extractor. Rock the "nut" back and forth as you attempt to extract the pin from the keyway.

If it is a straight pin, this might also work.

You should be able to drill and tap it for a bolt to pull it with. Heat the nut and then take an ice cube to the pin to shrink it. Helps to pop it loose after years of being in there. After heating and cooling you may be able to just grab it with vise grips and pull it.

we think that he pin is attached to the sleeve that is threaded, and we dont know how the nut is attached.. have you seen this type of assembly before

It looks similar to a gland nut that gets pinned in place. Some use tapered pins and others use roll pins. It is most likely a half pin that just keeps the nut from coming loose.
