Tucker Trunion Turntable bolt ?

Can I use a nyloc nut on the trunion bolt that holds the turntable on? Current setup is castle nut and cotter if which mine was welded on.

Seems like I could control the tension better with nyloc and the only time it comes into play is if the pontoon is raised off the ground.

I might suggest a stamped bolt some thing like a bomaloc bolt nylocks have their place, if you want it to stay use a stamped bolt or a castle nut

I will now. Just seems like the castle can never be perfect tension with cotter pin.

Most nuts/bolts have a torque range that a castle nut/cotter pin easily fall in. If it rotates at all and will ruin your day if it comes undone, than I would use a castle nut or some kind of retaining washer like on an axle nut.
