I'm convinced that cats, dogs even pigs react to pleasant things with a form of laughter. But it would surprise me if all living thing do to some degree. I know my cats when they play the sounds are different that when the get angry with one another. The do both often too. 
I'll have to try that on my pet rat Ellie. Thanx for sharing that.
