My first snow cat. It has two shifters . One at engine and one at rearend . 3 speed and rear 4speed .how do they work, together or separate? also have no left brake. Think it is in rearend .Where to go for parts?:bonk:

They are both used in tandem, just don't put them both in reverse, you will go forward very slow, and the rear transmission only has a brass bushing instead of a bearing and will wear out and cause some pretty expensive damage.

Depending on the load, the snow depth and stuff, I will use the rear in second and the front in second most of the time, but if you experiment on what your conditions are, you will get the hang of how it works.

As far as the brakes go, you either have a master cylinder or slave cylinders not working or need to be filled with brake fluid, air bled out or rebuilt. The brake bands themselves adjust in the back. Here is a photo of mine when I took the rear cover off last year to check it and inspect the brake bands.

What parts do you need? There is an assortment of places to get them, many in Utah.
