Nice day for clearing my trails

Since we now have a Honda Pioneer 1000 that will handle our tougher trails, we started the work today of clearing downed trees and brush that had grown or fell into the trails since we had not driven them for a few years.

This time of year is extra nice since you can see so much more of the terrain. Plus, Gail found some buckeyes with sprouts. First time we found them sprouting. I found some big buckeyes but no sprouts.

So, here are more pics than you ever wanted to see of our property, trails, and river docks after two floods that had them underwater for the past couple weeks.

And today, I remembered my phone for a change. This time of year is extra nice since you can see so much more of the terrain.
You had your phone. You have a nice view. Where's the pics? ;)

Haven't started on my trails yet. Still a bit too muddy and I don't want to tear things up. When I say "I", I really mean my son. Why should I do all that climbing and bending.

I'm only able to upload 3 pics at a time, otherwise I get an error Never seen that before. Anyone else seeing that? Might be due to resizing the large images. Not sure.

We will have lot of cleanup from the flood. An inch or two of mud on most of the docks. A power washer sure would be nice but we do not have electric or water so ....we'll have to shovel and sweep. Here are some more pics.

Yeah, a little early for us too. I tore up some of the trails but was tired of hoping for it to dry up. More rain in the forecast tomorrow, Thurs and Fri, so what the hey. Got a good start on the mess.

Enjoy the help (son) doing it while you can. Soon he'll move out and be on his own and guess what, you'll be on your own to get er done. Really, it's not bad. I sure needed the exercise and actually enjoyed the work. :D

My favorite kind of land, rugged to the point of knarly. Beautiful pics, reminds me of our Ozark place.

Thanks

Thanks for the pics doc. You should consider taking a nice set of loppers out there with you and start cutting down those grape vines. They'll reek havoc on your woods and actually start pulling trees down. We had a ton of them when we moved here. They're all gone now and the woods is much healthier.
