I hear ya brother. We have to keep the windows and back door open to catch the breeze coming up the hill. So you can imagine what a battle-zone my house is. Used to be you could keep a fly swatter in view and somehow they knew to stay away. But not anymore. It's a full on firefight.
The flies haven't been too bad here yet but we've been over run with little moths. They're everywhere, in the house, in the shop, in the garage, in the office, in the garden around the house. The bug lights just can't keep up. If it ever stops raining (not for another week) I'm going to fill the PTO sprayer and massacre the little buggers around the house. Once I get them thinned out I'll start on inside the house if my wife has left any alive. She's a demon with that dish towel. 
Flies and moths haven't started to be a thing around here, but those damned ticks are already out in strength. 
Here 4 houses share a dumpster in the alley (we have alley pickup) the idiots behind me own 2 houses side by side and never put the lids down on the dumpster which draws flies.
i saw two & i'm already 2 bottles of raid in. not to mention other forms of anti-gnat/ant devices. i have 1/2 a cabinet shelf of sprays & gels. i see 1, & i decide i hafta dial my Dad to get hysterical & then, i'll slug an adult beverage or 5 before dialing/waking my guy to get here asap to use said sprays/etcetera
