Tucker Body Change

Is anyone here aware of anyone modifying a 442 / 542 to make a 443 / 543 sedan model??

I have a lead on a 542, but really would prefer the sedan setup for hauling family & friends. I don't want to do a hack job (which I'm sure many fundamentilists are already thinking with cutting the 542 cab), but need & want something functional to get the CFO's approval. Cause when she ain't happy, ain't nobody happy! So was considering the labor to modify it as such.

Thanks,
David

I have a Tucker listed in the for sale section... link: http://www.forumsforums.com/3_9/showthread.php?t=42003

This machine was originally a 1642 and it was a very substantial job to convert it to a sedan model. We went to great lengths to replicate the original Tucker design, but we also made some considerable improvements along the way.

The steel and aluminum are cheap, but when you add in all the new glass, new seats, new carpeting, new paint, new weatherstripping, etc it adds up...fast.

I've heard a quote of roughly $3K to convert one and having done it, that's not an outrageous price, assuming it's done properly and thoroughly.

Good info. That $3K at least is right in line with what I was thinking. As long as it's fun, functional and comfortable then I'm ok with that!
