What is the type of your tires (industry and size number)

Nikos

They were produced by Goodyear, 5.30x12 6 ply smooth, many will fill them with polyurethane to flatproof.
Some machines have the solid rubber tires but they require a two piece wheel
They are very durable, but ride rougher, and cost over 500.00 ea tire only

this is a good looking cat with 4 doors for the price . not really a deep pow cat tho with those tracks . would be perfect for the east coast

I have a couple of questions I hope someone can help me with. This would be my first cat so I don't know much about them other than my own internet research. I would use it on the colorado front range on mountainous terrain.

Would this cat be good in Colorado powder?
How well do they climb?

I appreciate any input. Thanks

Best way to find out - is to buy it...
Price is great considering its shape, and he is half way closer to ya...

If he was anywhere PNW area - I would consider for sure...

It appears to have the same (28"?) tracks as mine. I would think that it would not do particularly well in deep Colorado powder. Mine's ok here in Wis., but that's much different snow.

I live and snowcat in the Colorado front range mtns but I am not familiar with how well a skidozer will do. The two important factors when it comes to snowcat performance are ground pressure and power to weight ratio. The skidozer your looking at has a ground pressure of 1.0+psi, not great but not terrible. And that's before you load it up with people and gear. My cat has a ground pressure at around 0.6psi stock and is probably around 0.75psi with the modifications, most Tucker's are 0.95psi.
Most of the snowcating I have done in Colorado is at 10000 to 12500 feet in elevation. At that elevation you loose at least 30% HP, so power is very important. I recommend something with EFI and a lot of power. Unfortunately most "vintage" snowcats don't come with a lot of power stock. If you buy something that has hydrostatic drive torque is what you want to look at instead of HP. Hope this helps and see you on the hill.
