Anyone have any recommendations on makes/models?

I'm looking to get (2) 2-3 seaters.
We have 4 riders, all with different riding skills and driving techniques. (e.g. My son wants to drive flat-out in any kind of waves and just likes to hang on for dear life. My wife runs half-speed and just cruises around).

Looked at a lot of use machines online. One that stuck out was a 2007 Kawasaki Ultra 250x (250 HP  ) Feature rich and looks like a nice size for cruising as well. Has a top speed of 56-70 MPH which could be a lot of fun.

But for about the same price, there's the new Sea-Doo Spark

They don't look as near the machine as the Kawasaki but are touted as economical to run and maintain and the reviews look good. With the larger engine, it gets up to about 50 MPH which is respectable.

Thoughts?

I have a Yamaha package in my whaler I cant say how reliable this package is and there is a but load of aftermarket support for Yamaha wave runners. my vote goes for Yamaha if they have a model that fits your needs

I had a 95 Yamaha wave raider 700. It was perfect for our kids. It was a 2 seater so it tippped easier than the new bigger 3 seaters. It would hit the mid 50s. Plenty fast on the water.
A friend had the Kawasaki 1200 I think ....was fast when it ran but it was persnickety.

The Yamaha just ran and ran. Never needed anything other than gas and oil. No premixing, it mixed for you. If buying again I'd go Yamaha.

my whaler has the wave runner 660 package and the waverunners in the 90's had a berkly pump. Berkley really is the gold standard in pumps weather for propulsion or just moving water
