Timberline Lodge, April 22,23,23, 2018 last snowflake adventure

oaky, need to update with the latest from Timberline lodge management

with the vastly improving weather on Mt Hood, the number of climbers/hikers has increased greatly, and and because the ski area has very little control over the climbers/hikers there is concern about the interaction between snow cats and climbers/hikers on Sunday, SO, Timberline Lodge management as asked if we could wait till 4 pm on Sunday before we start, Monday and Tuesday are good for all day use,

again we are being asked very nicely to wait until 4 pm. on Sunday to let all the climbers and hikers clear off the mountain and avoid any potential conflict of use,

so, take your time getting to Timberline Lodge on Sunday, unload your cat and park it on the East side of the Lodge, the area will be marked for you to see where to park, go check in, have a late lunch, and when the clock strikes 4pm. we are most welcome to drive on up to Silcox hut and enjoy the mountain, pretty much we will have the place to ourselves at that point, I thinks it is win win for the snow cats,

and remember on Sunday, I am buying the first round of timberline tucker ale up in the rams head bar at 7 pm.

we all should have grand time and everyone should really enjoy a very special place, Timberline Lodge. see you are there

Just double checking, we are good to get the cats to the parking/staging area from the lower lot Sunday before 4PM?

Thank you Princess for making this happen!!

We are heading out first thing Saturday, and headed for McMenamin's Edgefield for the night, and to start the pregame festivities. Looking forward to a great trip.

yes please go ahead and more your cat from the parking lot to the staging area. you do not need to wait till 4pm to move your cat up to the staging area

thank you all for understanding and making this work!

It would be fun to run the glade trail to goverment camp. Then more fuel, lodging ,restaurants would be available.

That would be fun but due to the confusion machine tracks to Govt. Camp cause, we will not be able to do that. Skiers see the track down to Govt. Camp and assume that they are going to a lift to bring them back up the hill. Ain't no up hill transportation other than driving the road or one long walk.

hey sno-surfer dude, it is Sun day

Well these delays I’m sure glad I went out yesterday for a bit. Just couldn’t wait....;-)
As we near the end of the season I start to panic. But really it’s my favorite time to go out because you can usually trailer farther up the road and the snow is still great up high and you can be in a T-shirt. Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow and if anyone is coming through Hood River with extra time I’d be happy to give a tour of the local mt biking trails or ski mt hood Meadows.

As you can see I don’t know which way is up sometimes either.

You guys need to have Timberline rotate the camera towards Silcox instead of up the mountain . . .

Very disappointed I am unable to be there. I love the pictures and all that sunshine! So cool to see those super kittens and also Jessie's cat back on the mountain. What a great event and history in the making. Pontoon Princess and company have pulled out all the stops. Cheers my friends [emoji482]

All done at Timberline event and back at the airport. Not really sure why I am leaving Oregon because it is a fun place. And it has a natural resource Colorado doesn't. One million thank you to Pontoon Princess and Scott for putting this on. You guys were so nice. It was neat to experience Timberline and Mt Hood. Unbelievable to see the super kittens, tank, rock and roll and the rest on the sno. But like any cat event the best part is the people. Good thing I already have a reason to go back and visit my new friends. IMG_20180423_151828_hdr.jpg
