A ground war in the middle east is coming. Israel is prepping for a full scale incursion into Gaza. This could get very ugly.

Hamas rockets reach Jerusalem and Tel Aviv

For second time on Tuesday evening, Gaza terrorists launch rocket at central Israel; air raid sirens sounds in Jerusalem, central Israel; Tel Aviv opens public bomb shelters; no injuries reported.
Air raid sirens rang out in Greater Tel Aviv, and in Jerusalem, Kfar Saba and the Binyamina area on Tuesday evening, marking an increase in the Gazan rockets’ range, on the first day of Operation Protective Edge.

An Iron Dome battery intercepted the incoming rocket over Tel Aviv. Hamas announced it had fired four M-75 rockets at the capital. Two loud thuds were heard in downtown Jerusalem shortly after the rocket warning siren went off at 9:56 p.m. Thousands of residents entered bomb shelters, while others remained outside and in cafés.

Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said none of the rockets fired from Gaza hit in side the capital, although two rockets struck just outside the city. At least one rocket hit in the adjacent Mateh Yehuda region. A rocket hit near a home, but there was no damage.

The Jerusalem Municipality announced Tuesday evening that it will open public bomb shelters across the capital. The municipality also recommended that residents open their private shelters.

Palestinian rockets continued to pound southern Israel throughout the day, with some 120 projectiles striking by the evening.

Iron Dome intercepted 23 rockets, shooting down rockets over Ashdod, Ashkelon and Gaza border communities.

The army began calling up the 40,000 reserve soldiers the cabinet approved for Operation Protective Edge, launched the previous night to stop the rocket fire from Gaza. IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Benny Gantz asked for the 40,000 soldiers in order to replace conscripted forces in the West Bank, thereby enabling their deployment to the Gaza border.

UNBELIEVABLE

I just watched an interview with a HAMAS leader who warned Israel not to bomb any civilian targets.

Is that not exactly what HAMAS does to the Israeli citizens?

It most certainly is. Their thinking appears to be 'we can do it but you'd better not.' Somehow I don't think that this is going to work.

Yup

And my bet is that the IMF, which just mobilized another 40,000 troops, is going to roll through with their tanks and wreak havoc on the cities and the citizens who have shielded HAMAS terrorists.

Especially now that HAMAS, a declared terrorist organization, is part of the government of Gaza.

The usurper has given billions to Hamas in Gaza since 2008 when they were the prepaid credit card clearing house for his $1B campaign..

The rockets have been coming in for days

The manpower call-up is in response to Hizbollah attacks from Lebanon and Syria when Gaza is cleaned.

Putting on my seer's rags I predict that, once again, the Arabs will fail in their attempt to "drive the Jew-dog bastards into
the sea!" The hypocrisy of the Palestinians seems boundless. :ermm:

It's about time that we recognized the obvious. When it comes to the Muslims of the Middle East there are no, or at least very few, innocent civilians. The idea that they can wage war on civilians but we are limited by the Geneva Convention and pledges not to make war on their civilians. To my mind the Geneva Convention applies to countries and standing armies and not to terrorists and those that give them aid and comfort. Killing their civilians won't make them hate us any more, they all hate us enough already. Every Muslim is a potential Jihadist and every female is the mother of a present or future Jihadist. It's time we took the gloves off and stopped trying to empire build, win hearts and minds and fight a politically correct war. We've tried and it's gained us nothing and cost us a lot.

Fact: No terrorist organization has ever signed the Geneva or Hague Convention Treaties.
Fact: To be covered by those treaties the single thing that must be done beyond becoming signatories is to enter the
field of battle wearing a readily identifiable uniform; terrorists wear clothing that blends in and use women and children
as shields.
Fact: The actual signatories to these treaties are not bound to follow them when dealing with criminals who refuse to
operate under their principles and indiscriminately target and murder both soldiers and civilians.

As can be seen the Islamic Supremacist terrorists are not entitled to the protections of the Geneva and Hague
Conventions. We are entitled to treat them in the same way we would a rabid dog ... hunt them down and kill them
wherever they are found. They have separated themselves from the civilized community of men and should be treated as the murderers they are.

I thought this an interesting perspective, and I tend to think it may be correct.

There is more to the story, I edited out parts from each section, just for brevity. But I think you get the gist of it from what I have posted.

HAMAS'S LAST STAND?

5 REASONS THIS ISRAEL-GAZA WAR IS DIFFERENT

by JOEL B. POLLAK 9 Jul 2014

Operation Protective Edge may look like its predecessors--Operation Cast Lead in 2008-9 and Operation Pillar of Defense in 2012--in that it is a response to Palestinian terrorism launched from Gaza against Israeli civilians. The previous two rounds of the conflict ended with Hamas still in power in the Gaza Strip, weakened but able to re-arm over time and to project a strategic threat. There are five reasons, however, this time may be different.

1. By Attacking Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, Hamas Has Invited Its Own Destruction. By launching its Iranian-and Syrian-made missiles against Israel's two major cities--especially Tel Aviv, normally a safe distance from conflict--Hamas has broken the unwritten rules of the game. It has long been known that Hamas in the south and Hezbollah in the north had the ability to reach those cities. But those groups had not exercised it.

Now that Hamas has shown it is willing to attack Israel's commercial, spiritual, and political centers, the terror group has left Israel no choice but to destroy it completely . . .

In particular, Netanyahu must maintain Israel's deterrent. While he needs to keep forces at the ready in case of an attack from Hezbollah, or a more direct escalation by Iran . . .

2. Obama Is on the Wrong Side--and Irrelevant. On the first day of Operation Protective Edge, President Obama published an op-ed in the left-wing daily Ha'aretz calling for "restraint" and a Palestinian state. As if to make clear that the publication was not an accident of timing, a senior Obama adviser gave a harsh speech to a peace conference in Tel Aviv the same day at which he blasted Israel for continuing to occupy the West Bank.

These gestures--informed, as usual, by misleading Palestinian demographic statistics that falsely predict Arab majorities in the near future--send the message that the White House disapproves of Israel's operation and its general strategic posture. Normally, that would be very bad news for Israel. But it may help, ironically, because Obama has already alienated Israel to such an extent that the Israeli government feels at liberty to ignore him.

In addition, Israel previously held back due to political considerations in the U.S., cutting Cast Lead short in time for Obama's inauguration, and postponing Pillar of Defense until Obama's re-election campaign was over. This time conflict has erupted at the height of the midterm elections, meaning that anything Obama tries to do to stop Israel will boost Republican criticism of his foreign policy, and place Democrats in a tough spot.

3. None of Hamas's Usual Allies Are Going to Help. Egypt, which as of last year was controlled by a very Hamas-friendly Muslim Brotherhood, is now run by Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, who led a military coup that pushed the Muslim Brotherhood out of power, cutting off a critical source of military and diplomatic support. The fact that Hamas is the Palestinian branch of the Muslim Brotherhood means Sisi has no love for the organization.

Iran might normally be expected to help, especially by smuggling weapons and stirring up Hezbollah to create a potential second front for Israel in Lebanon. However, Iran is tied down in fighting to defend the Assad regime . . .

4. Iron Dome Has Neutralized Hamas's Offensive Arsenal. Though Hamas targeted Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, those two cities have (thus far) emerged unscathed, thanks to the effectiveness of Israel's Iron Dome system, which tracks and destroys small, short-range projectiles. (Here the Obama administration will try to take some credit for Israel's security, although the project had U.S. support before Obama came to power.)

The other weapon Hamas still retains is kidnapping. It is still a potent threat, as last month's abduction and murder to three Israeli teens shows.
. . .
5. There is Israeli Support for Invading Gaza. Or, rather, Netanyahu will pay a political price if he fails to do what is necessary to oust Hamas. That could include re-occupying Gaza for some time--not re-introducing the settlements that were abandoned in the 2005 disengagement, but enforcing stability and preventing Hamas from operating militarily or politically in the Strip, withdrawing only once its terror infrastructure is destroyed.
. . .
