This looks similar to a Univisity of Utah Trackmaster variant:

This is a 1963 Thiokol 600 series Snow cat. It has a full 10 person cab powered by a 6 cylinder ford industrial motor, with 4 speed manual transmission. We originally thought the rear end was an OC-12 but later found out it is a 600 series which is heavier duty than the OC-12. This cat has been used by the local school district to access a enviromental center in the winter months. We purchased this cat and one other from the school district as a package deal. We are in the process of rebulding the other cat, and do not have a need for both. To the best of my knowledge this cat has not been used for the last 7-10 years. The motor runs well and all the drive componants are fully functioning. The only thing we had to do to get it running was add fluid to the clutch master cylinder, and hotwire the ignition switch (it came without a key). The body is in good shape, paint could use some wax. The interior is generally in good shape, the upholstery has some small tears and the paint is peeling off in many areas, but structurally it is very sound. There is a independant heater for the back cab area and two large bench seats, with a little work the cab will clean up nicely. The track is in poor shape, but it is all there with no tears, it works but should probably have the belting material replaced. It is my understanding that The grousers and belting material are available, we have talked to many people in the business that tell us they can still be purchased. We believe the two front tires are foam filled. We will also throw in a second transmission that has a PTO take off, and a hydraulics system that would allow you to put a blade on the front. We took this off the other cat as we have elected to not use a blade. This would make a great cat for accessing backwoods cabins in the wintertime. I have included a picture of the spec plate wich includes all the dimensions and weights.

With an engine swap this would be a pretty neat machine. This one's not the weak earlier style drivetrain like the 4VL's. This has the OC-15 steering differential. Most of you guys don't need a deep powder machine and the all-terrain capabilities may suit some of you better. Tear the hell out of a cornfield for sure!

Mtncrawler,
Your knowledge of these older Thiokol snow cats is great. Are parts still available for the OC15 steering rear differential? This one might be worth looking at and bidding if anyone wants to compete in the cornfield flyer class at the winter snow cat competition and meet.
