The DVDs are now available, thanks to FF member Teeoster.
I've got a stack of DVDs made up, thanks to Teeoster who made the copies at his office, he even printed some very fancy labels right on the disks. When I get back home from this trip I will offer them for sale to members, with profits going to keep the Forums free for all of us to play on! I've got 10 copies of the disk to sell. If we need more I'm sure we can make up a few more copies but it may take some time to get them reproduced.
The DVD contains copies of home/factory movies from the TUCKER SNO-CAT Corporation of Medford, OR. These movies are 40+ years old and feature several different Tucker Sno-Cats from the little 222 Kitten up to some large Antarctic exploration vehicles and also include prototype sno-cats. Also included on the DVD is a copy of the BBC's Salvage Squad TV show that shows the restoration of the Snow Trac ST4 that I bought in England and imported to the US.
In addition to the THANK YOU to Teeoster for making the copies, a very special THANK YOU goes out to Jack Sloan for providing the TUCKER SNO-CAT movies as well as another THANK YOU to our Icelandic member Villi for providing the BBC's Salvage Squad footage.
AS FOR THE MEETING WITH TEEOSTER . . . I'm happy to say that I met up with Teeoster in the bar at the Monte Carlo casino in Las Vegas, where he and his buddies drank all my beer.
Now I won't disclose his real name (John) because we all know that what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. . . but it turned out that Teeoster is a nice enough fellow; you can also tell he'd never left Michigan before, obviously young and naive in the ways of the world Having never been to the den of sin that is Las Vegas, Teeoster was hitting up every pay-by-the-hour lady who walked past us in the bar. Unaware that the pretty girls in Vegas are only friendly because they are paid to be very friendly , Teeoster had to learn the hard way. Fortunately we were able to keep him out of too much trouble. I'm not really sure what his room charge is going to look like, but at least while I was there he kept the bartenders running back and forth with pickled eggs, dusseldorf mustard and beer so its possible that the after I made my get-away that his friend Tom (the one with shifty eyes) got him drunk(er) and took him out to the Chicken Ranch. I could tell that Tom, being the older guy in the group, was the bad influence in Teeoster's life and obviously was trying to lead him astray.
But I can honestly say that he did not get into any trouble while in my company.
Its possible that Teeoster might have a sligthly different view of what occured at the bar, but my version is the truth
Details on how to buy the disks will follow later in the week.
I'm sure we can cover the cost of the disks and the shipping costs to all US destinations for $10 and still give a nice donation to the Forums.Shipments to locations outside the US will cost a bit more to cover added shipping charges.
