Default Sherman Tank Engine!

This engine is just rebuilt. Damn, it runs so smooth and quiet. I am impressed.

I liked the Allison - out here, after the War, the engines were used for the hydros. I'd love to have one to start up every Sunday morning before church. The Lemay collection has one still in the wood crate.

I think this Ford is the engine they were using at the end of the war, and in Korea. 1000 cid, and 500 Hp liquid cooled. Was originally designed as an aircraft V12, but made into a V8 for tank use. Two carbs two distributors and 4 gear driven camshafts.
