France & Germany are thrilled with Obama's pay limit proposal

The news this morning is saying that both France & Germany have been lobbying for, and now trilled with, the Obama proposal to restrict executive pay.

This is NOT just for banks that have been bailed out. Apparently it could extend to any large organization/corporation.

So while some corporations may be regulated I have to wonder about sports. There is probably no stadium, arena or other major sports venue that is not funded by public money. One would wonder if this will restrict the multi-million dollar contracts demanded by sports figures? And if not, then why not?

I agree, Bob. I realize pro athletes have a small "window of oportunity" to make big bucks, but I think it's gone waaaay beyond outrageous.
I personally don't feel our socialist leaders need to meddle in the bonus problem. Why don't the recipents have the courage to refuse the bonus since their co. is in the toilet, especially the ones in AIG who's dept. got the co. where they are now. When I was working, the co. handed out bonuses at Christmas to the parts that made money for the co. If your dept didn't do well, no bonus. Makes people work a little harder to do the job right. It seems a lot of companies don't have the brains or guts to write this into workers contracts, therefore they are forced to reward people for being stupid and/or greedy.
JMHO,
Mike
