Thanks for all your comments. What to haul in the trailer???? Firewood, supplies, mother-in-law, a snowmobile in case this tera track Tucker gets stuck as easily as Ive heard. (The real reason for this cat over the old one is speed, 20 mph at 1950 rpm as compared to 8 mph at 1900 rpm with the old one.) not to mention how well it rides with out 24 hard rubber wheels bouncing over 140 steel grousers.

I know a lot of you have seen this, but it shows how good the old Tucker would go in deep deep soft snow. No snow like that this year. (this was 5 years ago

It went better than I expected, ( of course there is only 3 ft of snow up there instead of 6ft) the tera tucker never tryed to spin or get stuck. We hauled a snowmobile in the trailer and left both at the top of our road in case we we needed a ride out. Our lane is 1.5 miles long and its 14 miles back to the highway.

We were up on sleds in that area last weekend. I sure hope the moisture starts soon. Could be a long smoky summer. Another note spent a ton of time above you in the last year off and on, putting an off grid repeater site on Tatman ridge!

As you can see the snow is almost gone and time to bring the Tucker down from the mountain. I traded my single 1 ton for a dually, this was the maiden voyage. It handled the weight really well but the exhaust brake didn't work so it was a slow ride down the hill in 1st gear. I'll have to take it back to the dealer for some warranty work.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s9ls9EOnrCc

We have already had 6" of snow up on the mountain. Snow cat season is not far off. Here are some pics of what Ive been up to this summer. I started building the shop and the cabin on the mountain property. Had to figure out how to get concrete in to such a remote location. ( the local Redi Mix wouldn't consider bringing trucks up there no matter what the cost.) I came up with a old patch plant and a old mixer. The first pictures are the shop for the snowcats and the second is the cabin. I still have the floor of the cabin to pour, But the weather might make that a next spring project.

My wife found this Tucker at antique dealer on the way to her sisters house. It has the flat head 6. The pontoons are wore out in many places. I thought this might be a good candidate for a rubber track conversion. What year do you guys think it is? and would the turntables be strong enough for the terra track conversion?

1959 to 1964, i believe, has the lighter cast aluminum 5 th wheels, might be best to find later ones from the 60's to early 70's if you are seriously considering a conversion....and while you are at it, you also should do a engine swap, at least a mopar 318 or chevy 350...good luck

Pics of our project on the mountain. This is the shop for the snowcats with a guest quarters on one end. With all the flooding last spring we only got to work up there one month. We have been running in on the weekend with the Tucker and working when we can.
