What was your favourite book as a child?
The first book you can recall reading on your own, and why?

Mine was Charlotte's Web.
I think it's what made me fall in love with animals to be honest.
Grams bought it for me for my birthday when I was, I think between 6-8 yrs old.
I read it over and over until the pages were worn.

A Childs Garden of Bible Stories followed closely by The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings trilogy. There were some smaller Loius Lamour-type scifi books, but I can't remember the titles just now.

Just remembered one...Tom Corbett, Space Cadet. No jokes, mmmk?

Someone had set them out as trash, and being a poor kid from the govt housing poject, look like good freebies to me! They're probably worth bucks now, as they were already 15+ years old back then.
