Pressure washer problem ???

I need some help . I purchased a Kracher 3000 PSI gas pressure washer at Costco about 6 -7 years years ago , It has worked well for pressure washing the house before I reoil it . Now it has developed this little problem of not wanting to build pressure when I pull the trigger . I can get it to work if I take off the tip but getting that back on the quick connect is dangerous . The local rental company mechanic said to junk it and buy a new pump . You guys have any ideals before i spent the bucks for a new pump ? The Honda 6.0 HP Motor works fine . I really like this unit but have been told the Kracher is junk ??? Is there a replacement pump that is better ??

Is the water inlet screen real clean? Try changing the pressure regulator setting by cranking it down and running it for a bit . Then adjust it back to a high position. They suffer from hard water and setting around too much.

Did it freeze? Seen many a pump get ruined from freezing.

I gave away a pressure washer a month ago. :(

After following Bill's advise..
Disconnect the output connection at the pump. Start the Honda. It should blow water hard and fast for approx 30 feet steadily. If not could be a failing pump. If it does, try attaching another out put hose and wand.

It sounds like the unloader valve is sticking.
With enough flow it moves back on to seat and builds pressure.

instructions to set it up

we have a good dealer near me and a friend's broke and he took it to them they suggested every season to lube pump and antifreeze it he suggest some thing like this

I've found the PumpSaver stuff at Lowes in the past. I usually get two seasons out of one can.

When ever I set my pressure washer up for winter storage, I run RV Antifreeze though it so it won't freeze up and split the manifold. I just pour it down a short inlet hose and when it starts spraying the red out the nozzle, I shut if off and put it away.

If you can't get it to run and have to buy a new one, make sure it is set up for the winter that way, will save you any problems from both freezing and corrosion from sitting long periods in storage...
