He must be slacking! I see 6 skids that won't have wood on them!Time to get er done!
They do now, but are not quite full. The weather has been too hot, and when it cooled off it has been raining. Hopefully my next weekend off we will finish all the wood we have left to cut. We are still waiting on a log truck load of oak.

I am going to clear out a bunch of beech and ash trees tomorrow with the backhoe. Some are 40-60 ft. tall and 8-12 in. around. They will be my start on next years wood pile. I have plenty for this winter already under roof plus a pile of slabwood that is about 12 dump truck loads. I will try to get the Amish boys over to cut it and pile it with the backhoe. It is harvest time and archery season starts soon so their free time is getting shorter like the daylight is.

A couple questions if I may.
What's the height of the beam on your splitter? It looks kind of low, like you'll be bent over a lot while splitting.
Did you put on some weight? I don't recall you having that belly before
Brian , It's about 25 ,or so inches high . It's a bit taller than My old MTD at any rate . The log lift ,and catch pan help . Besides , Jan is 4'11 and a bit . If it were any taller , She'd need a stool to work the valves
And , Yup , I'm getting a bit fat in my old age ! I need to drop about 10 pounds . I bought an exercise DVD ,but it hasn't done a thing for Me yet !!!

So Jan maintains her cute physique and you are letting yours go! You need to get out a maul while she runs the splitter. I tried to swing mine the other day and my shoulder hurt for 2 nights in a row. The big pieces of ash a log lift would be nice for! I let the Amish boys wrestle them or we get the wedges out and halve them to load on the splitter.

You just have to realize that Lem Is a jealous old Curmudgeon . Not only that , He has a criminal record that would shame Dillinger . The only reason that He's never been apprehended is that the FBI couldn't post his pictures due to His sheer ugliness . People would look at it ,and just run out of the post office screaming in terror ! As far as Him not lying .... If He had a dog , it wouldn't come when He called it .

Jan does all of the work and gets no recognition.
I only do some of the work. I actually enjoy doing it, especially when one of the stacks is finished. I love the new splitter. It is a lot less work, and splits faster than our old one.
