Who steals a cannon that weighs a ton?
Well, according to police, two men in northern California did just that during a Cinco de Mayo festival on May 1.
A World War I era cannon, a 5-feet tall structure made of iron and brass, had been on display at a veteran’s hall since 1947.
Surveillance video showed two men breaking the cannon free using a a bolt cutter and a pickup truck to tow it away, the Richmond, Calif. Police Department posted on Facebook.
After a story about the cannon aired on a local NBC station a man contacted police, saying he bought the cannon for $1,200 two days earlier. The buyer said he had no idea the cannon was stolen.
The cannon has since been returned to the veterans hall. Police are still looking for the thieves.
Nah, couldn't be anyone from this Forum because you would have kept it.
You wouldn't have sold it. Besides you wouldn't have done that to the veterans. Even though I doubt if there are any left from World War One.

Now I could see one of you buying it.
