I believe that is the correct sticker. Sometimes with vintage snowcats it's easier to call versus going thru the mail. I had to send them a copy of the bill of sale for proof of ownership. They still don't understand the displacement, my cat is listed as a 700cc.

I'll call tomorrow and see where they can be bought in person. If you buy the sticker online or over the phone they will send you an email that can be used as proof of purchase. So you don't have to worry about the sticker arriving in time. They are usually very understanding as long as you have paid.

It would be nice if I could get it ordered now, I will be driving all day on Thursday and get there late. Not sure if I will be able to get a sticker that late and still be able to get to the first event on Friday morning. Thanks for looking into it Sean!

last year i renewed my registration a week before the event, didnt get my stickers in time and all i had was the printed receipt from the blm office which counts as your temporary registration that i think is good for 90 days. the park rangers at vail pass were cool and understanding, only asked me about it once on the first day. i wouldnt be to concerned about not having the current sticker displayed if you have a receipt.

I talked to parks and wildlife today and getting your sticker will be super easy for the out of state people. Go anywhere fishing licenses are sold (Walmart, sporting goods stores) and you can buy the sticker in person. No need for proof of ownership (in state people have to register their machine so proof of ownership is necessary). I called the Walmart in Summit County and they confirmed they sell the sticker at the ammunition register. You can also buy online and choose pick up at sale location option but buying in person is probably easier. Hope this helps and looking forward to seeing everyone.

You can also purchase you state sticker at Vail pass from the ranger station in the parking lot.
You wont get the actual sticker but a you will get a temporary paper permit good for 90 days.

You will need a Bill of sale* that includes both the seller and buyer's printed names and signatures, the vessel/vehicle identification number (if any), the vessel/vehicle make, model and year (if known), and the date of the sale;
if you don't have a bill of sale just make one so you can register your snowcat.

You can also go to the local forest service office in Dillon to get you sticker if you don't want to wait till the day of the event.

I ordered the out of state snowmobile sticker from the CPW site, they only required the model of my machine. I did have to make an account also. They indicate it will be mailed and arrive in 5 to 7 business days. If any other out of state people are looking the tag is hard to find on their site, at least is was for me. It is under the park passes header, then you have to go to the vehicles and vessels header. Hopefully I bought the right sticker, if not I will buy the correct one at Vail Pass. Thanks for your help Sean and Aaron!

Getting the Frandee ready for Colorado, took her out today for a 30 mile solo trip in the fresh powder we got here in SE Idaho a couple days ago. Was at an elevation of 7200 ft, ran well, hope she can pull those mountains in Colorado, I heard that they are around 14,000 ft. Might have to adjust the carb a little for that elevation. However, she sure did plow through the deep powder today, can hardly wait to try her out at Vail Pass. With todays trip I just logged over 200 miles in her this season, at an average speed of 8 miles/hr, that's a lot of seat time.

Anybody that wants to drive her when I am at Vail Pass, just ask, I love letting other drive her around and experiencing 1953 technology.

Hello everyone
I was wondering what time on Friday people were meeting at Vail pass? We are driving up on Friday.
Also, was there enough interest in the hotel room group rate to get the discounted pricing?
We're coming either way, but it would be nice to get a room for $100 less per night.
See you next week.

cat_woman,
last year most met up around 9am at vail pass. I wasn't sure on the group rate but had no interest paying $220+ for a room in silverthorne/dillon so we got our room in leadville for half the price. its on the south side of camp hale with a little longer cat ride to the top. hope that helps.

Hey! We have an old Frandee parked near here at an old ski hill location. I had photos of it but could not locate them now. I'll try locating them.

A big storm moved into Colorado and we are measuring the snow by the foot. The snow conditions for the Jamboree will be epic. Looking forward to seeing everyone and their cats. Travel safe.

The snow was so good I had to hike back up and ski the same run three times.

I was able to ski from the top of the mountain all the way to my front door. One of my antique T-bar in the background.

Go to 'summitdailynews' to see video of vehicles trapped by avalanche crossing I-70 near Copper Mtn. Two slides hit I-70 in that area and then CDOT triggered one that deposited 8' to15' feet on I-70 just east of the Eisenhower Tunnel. Road still closed in both directions. Breckenridge Ski Area called 42" three day total. Forecast is snow for the next 4 days, high of 13 degrees Saturday. This is just the type of weather conditions that pull people up here in droves to play in the snow. To avoid disappointment be sure to get up early and claim a parking spot in a limited and likely poorly plowed lot. And be prepared for winter conditions. Or, since it is Colorado high country, it might get sunny and warm and the birds be chirping and the children be playing...

I still have visions of rolling through the CO *WEEKENDER* traffic jams I took me quite a while to understand the giant plums of exhaled smoke wasn't from professional-vapors headed home from a competition......

I am glad your weather is as variable as the rest of the snow belt....
