.......at least that's what I spent the past 4 hrs saying. Worked my butt off today actually. A bunch of us were supposed to decorate the santa float for this year's christmas parade. Normally, it only takes an hour or so to get it done but this year, it was a parade of lights which took quite a bit longer to get those lights on. Only three of us showed up to decorate it. I was chosen to be the santa on this year's float two days ago.(more like, we got no-one else to do it so guess what.....)

I had fun though. It was a bit cold but it was nice to see the smile on the kids faces. The parade ended at our arena where we had a fireworks display then went inside where I was handing out candy canes to the kids while they were getting their pictures taken with me.

Good job Brian. I've got to ring bells for 4 hours on Saturday for the Salvation Army. I do it every year and it never ceases to amaze me how generous people can be.

The guy that played santa our our float last year came down with a stomach flu at the last minute. Instead of saying HO HO HO! He was saying OH OOOOH OOOOOOOOOOHHHH!

We do allot of events like that with the Kinsmen club I am part of. We help organize the local trade show in the spring, help at the fall fair, set up a food both at our anual music Jamboree, host a charity casino night(which is a fun time.........people come in, pay an entrance fee of $5.00. we give them play money to gamble with. we have 5 large blackjack tables that can seat 20 people each setup and we are the dealers. everyone has a great time. at the end of the night, we hold an auction for prizes that we get donated from business in the community. people use the play money to bid on the prizes.)

We also host a large easter egg hunt for the kids every year. It's all about giving back to the community. Considering we only have 9 members in this club, we get allot accomplished. And we have fun doing it. Our meetings consist of getting together every second wednesday, going out for supper, then having a meeting at the hall where we sit around drinking beer discussing and organizing events.

Yesterday was my first time as Santa. After the event was over and we were cleaning up the decorations, a local woman approached me and asked if I'd be willing to be santa at a local restaurant/bar for a few hours here and there during the month of december. I enjoyed it. It was great fun seeing the smiles on the kids faces.

That time of year again!!! This weekend will be our towns annual christmas parade. And, once again, I've been asked to be Santa. Should be fun. It's allot warmer this year with no snow on the ground yet. I just hope it doesn't rain. Been raining for a week straight here.

Here's a couple pictures from last sunday. I was just heading out to deliver some toys with my little elf in tow. Hershey even got dressed up for the occasion.

Almost that time of year again. I'll be Santa again this year for the third year in a row. Looking forward to it. Our parade will be at the end of the month.
I work with foster children and foster parents. Quite a few of them were at the parade last year and came to see santa to get their pictures taken. Not one of them recognized me. It's a great feeling seeing the smiles on the kids faces.

Last year, by the time we got to the arena where the parade ended, I had to really go to the washroom. So, Santa comes into the arena, runs right passed all the little kiddies lined up, and heads straight for the can.:yum:

I still remember being in that stall overhearing this little kid in the stall next to me talking to his dad wondering if santa is really coming.....it was priceless to see the look on his face when I came out of the stall dressed up. :yum:
