This is cool. Something different to talk about besides politics. Soon, all of these men will pass on. We should keep their memories and actions alive and honor our greatest generation. My personal life has been greatly affected by these men. The WW2 era veterans in my family have all passed: My father -Army. One uncle, an Iwo Jima, and island campaign Marine. Another Uncle a Navy veteran in the far east. It was the honor of these mens service to our country that, in no small part, influenced my own decision to enlist. Sounds corny and hoaky, I know; but it is true.

Please enjoy this series of videos my 15 YO daughter found on Youtube. There are several of these home videos and all are moving.

Here is another 96 year old still going strong... :hide: You are correct, that most of these older warriors are dying off at a greater pace than ever. I remember as a kid he neighbor that was in the Navy as a Pharmacist Mate, putting stitches in my foot when I stepped on a bottle. He was as good as any doctor in my opinion. I also remember the stories that he used to tell us kids about the war. To think back, that at that time, he was younger than I am now. My mom kept in touch with them up till her death. I only wish that I knew where his children were now, because we were good friends as youngsters.... Junk...
