Cocaine Mitch pounds Nancy Pelosi into a powder

House speaker Nancy Pelosi is feeling the heat.
Just as she thought she had President Trump backed into a corner with impeachment, she smashed herself against a brick wall in Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell, who refused to go by her rules, laying waste to all her precious plans.
In the Senate, Cocaine Mitch makes his own rules. But actually, it's not that; Mitch is just using Clinton-era impeachment rules.
Those rules were to invite the Democrats to present their case and answer questions, and then have the Senate decide whether to call witnesses. Pelosi had already gone all out and claimed she wanted the Senate to call witnesses. Mitch was obliged to follow no such diktats. And as a result of staying steadfast on Trump, he now has a quorum to move ahead with those rules.
It's gotten so bad that it's now Senate Democrats who are warning Pelosi to drop the clown show, because her delay as leverage was starting to render Democrats irrelevant.

One way is that the long, dragged out, boring as heck process is forcing the five Democrat senators still in the running for president to constantly keep coming back to Washington for the hearings and votes. That's cutting their campaign time. That in fact was the real reason why the ultra-politicized impeachment was supposed to be done so quickly, according to the political observers — couched, of course, in the language of Trump being a danger to the republic and all.
Now she's blown it. Caught between the baying-for-impeachment Squad and the solid wall of Mitch McConnell, who, like her, understands power, she's trapped. It's either get impeachment over with or let it bleed her party out of power. She can't move Mitch. And she's got Feinstein mad at her now, too, and going public, the cracks and crumbles now visible. It's either Feinstein or the Squad. She's caught like a pig in a poke, in a trap of her own making, and now can't please any of them.
