American airlines will have to pay the European cap and trade carbon taxes for every flight in and out starting January 1st. This will drive ticket prices higher when most folks can least afford it. Seems rather strange to have to pay a tax for the brief air time they are there and actually burning fuel. Watch for cries for similar taxes on European counterparts flying into here.
