Got my floors painted with rusty metal primer, installed the heater sans blower, and got my radiator back in. It looks a lot better without the trans cooler blocking most of its flow. The Cummins elbows work great. I’m convinced this isn’t the stock heater core but it will work fine. The lines stick out a bit, but it’s easy to access now and will be covered.
The trans cooler fan takes 19 amps to start so I got a new 100 amp alternator. I’m installing a Pertronix unit. I got a NOS New Holland (Motorcraft) vacuum advance unit from Premier Equipment in Huron S.D. I ordered it thru Messicks. They didn’t have one but they referred me to Premier who had one left from who knows when. My non-emission distributor, D3JF 12727 BA, is only listed for the LSG 633.
