……….. roger that,... hope it's just a solenoid. that would be a bummer to ''side-step'' the gameplan,... but the Isuzu manual tranny would be a ''synchro'' ,... so you could shift ''on the fly'',... but putting the clutch pedal , hyd. clutch master , etc.... would add more space ''eating'' components. hope you get the auto to work,...

While you have the Isuzu engine out, pull the pan and check out the L/O suction. The installs I did back in the 70's were a bit different pan configurations, and I found specs which only allowed for 15 degrees of tilt. Can't remember in which directions. The pick up screen was pretty large and it was easy to see why it would suck air. So the pan got extended and a can kinda shaped like a sardine can got installed around the factory screen with a hole in the center bottom of the engine which is the only place the oil can enter. I believe the oil pump isn't centered in the pan. Anyway, no suction problems to 45 degrees with it. Also end up with more L/O in the pan.

... great idea S/D ,... I don't believe the owners property is that steep, but definitely need to confirm. removing oil pan(s) , is on the list. I always ck. the ''bottom ends'' , and p/u tubes, o/p , etc. some applications I've come across have had a ''floating'' or pivot p/u screen assy. with an up ''limiter''. handy if limited on pan expansion room. also an issue to consider on automatic transmissions,...

Ive got everything figured out for the most part, except my Reverse still isnt there, finally figured out how to "diagnose" the transmission electronics via ECO light thats wired to the transmission control unit - gave me an error code 10 - got something going on with the Line Pressure Solenoid, which I guess makes sense that reverse isnt working right.

Hoping to get time this week to pull valve body from another truck I got with same tranny and swap them out - see if the issue resolves.

You got good progress, I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for a test drive this season before snow melts

…… great....that sounds good. must be more than one ''line pressure'' circuit in the valve body; one for reverse, and one for forward.....otherwise you would think you should have an issue with the forward speeds. hope that all works out for you. test drives are good tools. thought I was going to get one more in,...the other day,...nope. how did your extractor work I normally drill all the way through the center than weld a washer followed by welding on a bolt. The hole allows the broken fastener to shrink a little and the washer allows for a deeper weld. if those don't work get out a drill and drill it over size and install a helicoil

….…… STN , …. I haven't been back since,... last project of the day. I ll find out asap,. usually on the small hardware,.. I can get away with just ''tacking'' a ''button'' on top of the culprit,.. then:thumbup: center an oversize nut on top of the button, glue the two, …. and ''quench'' . sometimes it spins out with yoiur fingers,.... and then again,...its one or more attempts. but , yes..... on the large dia. hardware projects,.. drilling a center hole speeds up the success,...

,...….. so STN,...… it wasn't going to give up easy,.... first attempt started to wiggle, then twisted off. so I couldn't remember if I've tried the washer technique before ,... so I gave it a whirl,... but great suggestion … worked slick. took about 10 mins. of wiggling & wd-40,... no thread damage . cleaned up welds ; ...'' de-fluxed'' & ''de-splattered'' ,... the new mounts, primed,.... and the rear '' uppers'' / brackets,... also removed rear output yolk to weld drive hub hardware to yolk,. converted from '' slide on '' studs'' , to ''bolt on'' flange...… just a light tap & slid off,....

if I have the room my first try is always a reverse drill bit and extractor. if those fail me than I brake out the welder like you did. I always like a good centered hole, especially in aluminum so if the welder doesn't work I have a good pilot hole to drill out over sized to thread and helicoil.

……. same here,.... we all love drilling ''perfectly centered'' pilot holes,... or drilling holes in general,....lol. the worst task ever. there's no drilling anything, once you hit it with a torch or welder,... turns into ...'' titanium-ized'' …. unscratchable for the most part. but we all pretty much know that, if the bolt breaks off , while turning it ''out'',... then an extractor usually doesn't have a fighting chance ,... so right to the welding process. I could see the ''twist'' on bolt , that this had occurred. not uncommon to have to go thru this process a number of times until success....

…………. reassembled the ''output'' yolk , and the ''step/spacer'' for the ''intermediate'' shaft to Mate up to. set eng./trans. assy. into chassis , far enough so oil pan could be removed. for two reasons; engine , somewhere along the line as to getting here, had been set down on the drain plug of pan, causing an upward dent of the bottom of the pan & a leak also. and to check the lower end of engine; crank brgs., oil pump, pick-up , deposits in pan, etc...… with the dent, it restricts two quarts of oil not to fully drain out . emptied pan, and found multiple types of metal debris . oil pump pick up is a straight tube with screen, which goes to the bottom of the pan, within a 1/4'' . removed a couple main brg. caps ; found them in good shape, and the date on ''inserts'' are five years newer than the eng. mfg. date. so those have been replaced at some point. now the rods , not so much, no date on insert. also ''roached'' , they weren't going to go much further. ''displaced & heat damaged'' . (STD.). on all. will have to ''polish'' , & plasti-gauge new rod inserts to determine condition of rod journals. ………………..
