Sorry this isn't a snocat but wanted to share the photos. This is the Stieger that pushes out our roads here in the Utah Mountains. It was pushing over 8 feet of snow this winter. He kept a pushing but the snow kept a coming. Maybe next year we will sno cat instead of opening roads. :bb:

What a waste of fuel. The path isn't even wide enough for two vehicles to pass each other. The world needs more Kristi Snowcats.

It is huge, it really can move a lot of snow. He pushes out about 200 miles of road to get us to our jobs. Each tire weighs about 3000lbs.

Wow that thing sounds huge!
Bob how much do you suppose the tires weigh on that little pink Kristi you are go'in to restore?

Any SnoCat is better than no SnoCat.

Exactly!

And, wakeupcall? That is an awesome, simply awesome piece of machinery. Attractive too..., nice color. The pictures, as American Woman said, are truly neat! Thanks for sharing.

That old Stieger looks like a mid 70's model. The steel hood was replaced by a fiberglass hood in the very late 70's. My guess is an early "couger" with an 855 Cummins under the hood. Must have a vee plow in front of course...

My neighbor has a Stieger Couger with the glass hood, a 1979 model.

They were made in Fargo ND.....Case IH bought them out in the early 80's. They still make a tractor with the name on it.

Looks like it is very capable in this some what unusual role though!!

It will last for decades as a snow plow, I would think. On a farm it would get so many more hours put on it, as many have...

Great old tractors they are!

Thanks for posting this,
Kirk
