The danger of Wyoming winds on the state’s highways was captured by a dash-cam on a Wyoming State Trooper’s vehicle. The Wyoming Highway Patrol posted the video to warn drivers to follow high wind advisories and closures, even at reduced speeds.
This happened February 7th near Elk Mountain on Interstate 80. The patrol says three troopers were on scene tending to motorists who were involved in previous crashes, and so were all out of their patrol cars when this accident occurred. No injuries were reported either to the Troopers or two the two occupants of the truck.

I've experienced Wyoming winds and they can be brutal!! Had a 40' RV parked in Jeffery City in '95 and one weekend blow made me go to Riverton and buy some mobile home tiedowns for it. Kinda spooky feeling your tlr rocking on the blocks!!

The van was most likely empty. I've seen the same thing happen to empty trailers in So Cal when the Santa Ana winds are blowing. Gusts are more likely to cause this than sustained winds. 90+ MPH gusts are common in the wind prone areas.
