Obama has drawn another figurative 'red line', this time warning the Russian leader not to take direct action in the
Ukraine. Since Russia has a vested interest in the stability of the region, Putin would be remiss not to be prepared to take
direct action there; the Ukraine is a major agricultural and transportation hub for the Rodina (Mother Russia), and is
teetering on the brink of civil war. Putin has more justification for intervening there than Kennedy had when he bluffed
Khrushchev into pulling his missiles out of Cuba.
Even Obama and Kerry, as ignorant of foreign policy as they have shown themselves to be, have to know this ... or at least,
there must be someone nearby who can inform them of this "minor" fact. There is no justification at all for this country to
become involved in this regional brouhaha.
(Personally, I think if Putin came into the White House and peed in Obama's Wheaties, he would not be able to extract a
meaningful "cost" for the action. I am no fan of Vladamir Putin, but at least he a functioning set of male organs.)
