Or better, yet: Roll up to the light in your $65k rust-ang and get spanked by a 8000# Diesel.

Most people don't know that an electric motor gives it's peak torque at 0 RPM. This is part of the reason they work so well in locomotives (that and can you imagine the size clutch a locomotive would need it if was direct drive?)

No clutch in the size required for a locomotive would never be able to handle the Kinetic Energy either like a electric motor.

RJ Letourneau comes to mind.

I really hate how these "electric vehicle" people claim that their cars are pure and efficient. Where do they think the electricity comes from? There are lots of coal and gas power plants in the Northwest.

What about all those batteries - how efficient is it to dispose of them and how environmental is it to come up with the chemicals to make them?

Hypocrisy is rampant in these kook balls.

Sorry - There were several early diesel locomotives that were direct drive. Not a huge clutch either, just many, many gears...

I'll agree with PB, electric vehicles have many "unpublished" pitfalls that the green nazis don't want known or understood, because it would only prove their hypocrisy.

Um, is that a couple of blue portable toilets on the right side of that bottom picture on the race track??? What a deal for the fans if it is. Hop in there during a race and I'm betting it would cure your constipation in short order.
