Putting out a Cat call to Cloud Cap on Jan 15

Anyone want to go? I'd be happy to escort all shapes and sizes of cats up to Cloud Cap Inn on January 15th, that's the holiday weekend so hopefully most won't have to work. If you have never been or even if you have, winter is a great time to go up and see it. The access is a little used fire road that we can connect on to Cloud Cap rd. There is plenty of good trailer parking at the beginning of the access rd off of Cooper Spur Rd, about a mile past the Cooper Spur Inn.
I've posted several pictures on here over the last week to give you an idea of what it looks like but it is much better to see it by sno cat. (or even a snow cat, snow trac, etc)
This would be a fun day for a shake down cruise before Mcall too.
Let me know if anyone has any interest and pass it on to anyone that may not see this on the forum. Any and all are welcome. Let me know if you have any questions.
Jan 15th, hit the trail no later than 9am?. (earlier the better):flowers::biggrin:

Now don't be bashful, there's going to be a lot of fresh snow dumped between now and next Sunday. Might want to attach your intake snorkels. :brows:

I'd love to but I don't think my cat will be ready until sometime mid February. I would love to go up to Cloud Cap for some type of Shakedown run before McCall. it's beautiful up there. Will definitely have to make a point of going up there together for pictures a 542 and a 543

you know, it could be a 500 machine only event, as there are more than one 500 machine in the area...huh, mr 4 track.

Local snow report. This was taken two days ago and we now have twice as much snow here at about 400'. Unbelievable winter here so far. Maybe the most snow I have seen here in 15 winters.
I'm going to bring some tea and head out for an early morning drive. No school for the kids and I think I have a load of folks that want to play today.

Cloud Cap with a still on and it's shaping up to be a great adventure!

How about a Kristi KT7 attending Cloud Cap with a Danica Patrick type driver at the controls.

Going to be great to see the photos on this adventure. Better yet if you can make it you shouldn't be sorry.

A KT7 with any kind of driver would put his over the top.
Just took a run from the house this morning. I'm having a hard time getting any work done.....

I'm also having a hard time getting any work done--and I'm in the office with no snow in sight.

I'd love to join the trip to Cloud Cap, but (a) I've committed to take a Girl Scout troupe cross-country skiing this weekend, and (b) the following weekend we're pulling the engine out of your old Snow Trac to replace the clutch release bearing. After that it should be fully ready to head back out in the wild!

I'll be curious what you find. It does make a bit of noise when pushing the clutch in. It used to be worse but after driving it a while it pretty much went away. I also looked at the throw out bearing when I had it and it was fine. I would be curious if the transmission input shaft bottoms out a bit. I decided it was ok and just drove it but it wouldn't hurt to have another look I'm sure.
Glad to hear it's getting some attention. :flowers:

Jeremy Clarkson conducted the snow trials today...Lynn St. James was not available

No Dannica?
No Lynn St James?
How about Ashley Force?! Although a Top Fuel driver might not be impressed with the pace of a Tucker...(tongue firmly planted in cheek).

The weather is breaking up here the next few days. Looks like we might get some sun on Sunday. Temps still cool and the snow will be great.

Just wanted to update that the main roads are clear here. It should be pretty easy getting around....except for me. My long and narrow driveway is choked with snow. I love it but my trailer is buried and it'll be a chore to get it out the driveway. Good thing I have a sno cat. I'll be working to get that out real early Sunday as I'm booked up for tomorrow.
Took the snowmobiles up today from the house and it feels like we are in a whole different place with all this snow. Warming to come on Tuesday...
Snow conditions are incredible right now.

Bundel Mom up, put her in the 542 and tow you in the truck and trailer out to the road, load and go. See you at trail head.

I need to get a Mom up to speed on driving the Tucker for sure. I'll get things out one way or another.
If anyone is on the fence I might add that my phone is calling for a bluebird day tomorrow. With all the snow and the continued cold temps, I'm expecting epic conditions for a fun run up Hood.

Well today turned out just great and I hope all have made it home safely by now. We stayed up another couple hours and arrived back at the take off at dusk.
Today's weather was perfect ( I probably said that last time), jackets off at 6k ft, no wind and blue skies. Cold down below though but about half way up it warmed quite a bit.
It was the Tucker 500 club today with Sno Drifter and family and grand kids, Mark and his better half in his insanely original and I believe very low mile freighter (?) and myself and four other friends. Three Tucker 500's in all. Three of my riders skied back to the car and sno drifters wife, son and grand kids skied too, I don't know how far down but it looked like fun.
Being the late one down I can say that Sno drifter can lay down some quality corduroy too! I didn't get a picture of it but man it was smooth! I bet he makes a lot of friends with that grooming set up, it's really genius.
I have some pictures to post but will have to wait until tomorrow cause I'm beat. I also brought a photographer friend that I'll get some photos from. He really enjoyed the day too.
Thanks to Sno a Drifter And Mark for bringing their cats out and coming up today. I know it's a long day for everyone but hopefully a memorable one.
By the way the Princess couldn't make this so we may just have to do it again when time permits, or Adams or ?? :brows::clap::biggrin:

Here is the leader of the pack. 500 Sno-Cats go good on the side hills and steep.

Never trust a leader that appears sideways, even in photos.

I have a hard time loading photos from the camera but here are some phone pics.
