White Rim Utah

I am looking at doing a trip around the white rim trail next year and was looking for advice on what would be a good sag wagon? I was thinking of buying a early 80s Suburban adding a roof rack beefing the suspension a little and slightly over sized wheels. I am just worried that it maybe a little to big for the task. Any advice?

I had an 85 suburban 4X4 with a 350 automatic. Had the solid axle and Warn locking hubs. Wish i had it back. You want to make sure you get one with a posi rear for any serious off roading. They are big and roomy and not too hard to maneuver.
