I've heard this series is excellent, but won't watch it; there are some things that shouldn't be revisited. However, I think it would be very good viewing for anyone who wasn't there and wants to know more about it than they can get from most soi disant "histories" of that war.

That's understandable Jerry and Bob.
I do agree it's an excellent series to watch, however.. having lost a cousin (and I don't mean physically in the war, I mean mentally) to that "conflict" it's a touchy place for me to go too.

Kenny served in 'Nam.
After he came home, he was never the same.
Now I don't remember the times my parents told me- about how he used to love to spoil me and my brother John when we were little.
Last time I saw him I was maybe 13 years old.

He had a sad ending to his life because he turned to drinking and fell asleep smoking in his apartment while he was drunk.

He looked just like my Dad and my uncle Jack when they were younger.

(I had added a post last night, then removed it).

Thanks to all the men on this forum who may have served there.
