Very cool. We had a number of abandoned rail lines around here, but they pulled the rails to recycle them, and turned them into biking/walking trails. They are now owned my various MetroPark systems. I miss hunting along the tracks.

That would be perty cool, but the abandoned tracks around here have much bigger foliage growing out of the tracks.

Several years ago i bought an old RR hand cart at auction and tryed the same thing, but it was a waste of time & a helluva lot harder to place on and off the tracks.

We had an abandoned line here up until two years ago when they came through and took out the rails. Some of my buddies got together and picked up one of those small motorized rail cars. They used to ride the line here. At that time, the line had been out of service for about 7 yrs and went from Longlac to Thunder Bay (or about 280 km's). They took the rails out but left the wood ties there. Wish they woulda taken those out also. Would make an awesome place to go for an atv ride right from town.
