3 lives were snuffed out and 6 people in critical condition because this guy wasn't paying attention. Give your loved ones a hug cuz you never know. If it was one of my loved ones killed this guy would be a dead man. Period.

STORY

(AP) PHOENIX (AP) - A dump truck plowed into a group of eight motorcycles stopped at a red light in Phoenix, killing three riders, injuring six others and scattering flaming wreckage across the intersection.

The eight motorcycles, carrying at least nine people, had pulled up behind a pickup and a small SUV at the light Thursday when the truck driver rammed them from behind, said Phoenix police spokesman Detective James Holmes. The truck ran over the motorcyclists and continued into the SUV.

Motorcyclists turn out for ride to remember those killed in Phoenix accident

PHOENIX - Hundreds of people gathered and rode up to Roadrunner Restaurant in New River to remember the four people killed in Thursday's motorcycle crash.
The names of those who died were released by police on Friday as 67-year-old Clyde R. Nachand, 52-year-old Stephen Punch, 35-year-old Daniel L. Butler and 47-year-old Dayle Veronica Downs-Totonchi.
Phoenix police Officer Luis Samudio said the truck driver, identified as 46-year-old Michael J. Jakscht, failed to control his speed and collided with eight motorcycles from behind and four other vehicles that were in front of the bikes. Aerial video showed several motorcycles wedged underneath the truck.
In addition to the four fatalities, five victims were transported to local hospitals, including Phoenix Fire Capt. Ernie Lizarraga, who was off-duty. The captain and another motorcyclist were airlifted from the scene. Lizarraga remains in critical condition.
