any thought on where it's price is going?

I herd today, speculation that it's going to hit 3000 before it goes down to 500

is it best to own precious metals "in hand" or buy it as a comodity?

No idea how high gold or silver will go, don't know how far they will drop.

However I believe that both are viable investments, even at current prices.

As for my investing, I have traded it as a commodity for the past couple of years.

I'm a gold ownership advocate. However, I think it is the next bubble. Might as well get some while it's still going up. Been reading similar about the possibility of 3000 then a big sell off. As far as how to invest, I suggest http://www.monex.com/

If you do "buy" gold, then buy it, not paper attached to it. And store it in a secret safe place, not a lock box at a bank.
