Never trusted Trump, never was on the Trump train, voted for him but held my nose while doing and was very skeptical all along ... but it looks like Trump is turning more and more to the Democratic leadership to get things done, which means the GOP is going to get shut out. The GOP leadership has opposed much of the Trump agenda and risks becoming irrelevant.

Polling data of Trump voters (not limited to his strong supporters) indicate generally wide approval of him reaching across the aisle to the Democrats. He may get bit like Ronald Reagan did and get promises that are never kept, but so far he appears to be "teflon Don" in the eyes of most people who voted for him.

And tonight, a dinner with Pelosi and Schumer. DACA/dreamer amnesty in exchange for some middle class tax cuts?

...edit... DACA/dreamer amnesty in exchange for some middle class tax cuts?

Well, I don' think anyone really thinks that someone that was raised here since childhood is going to be "deported" to a country that they have no connections with.

The crime is with the parents, not the children

Sooooooo, that being said, perhaps Trump is going to get "something" (tax cuts?) for "nothing" (deporting children).

YMMV

The man makes deals. The publicans had their chances. A bunch of swamp rats. Just about all of them. They Sat on their ass while Obama fucked this country up and now they don't do what they said they would do for the last eight years.
I give a flying phuk who he has to deal with to get us back on track, but get us on track. Make some deals that make America great again!

Any republican elected would have done what so far?.

Yup, nothing.

I am not talking about the politicians all (or most anyway) politicians seem to be scum. I'm talking about individuals who are registered Democrats.
I'm about ready to switch to being an Independent. Only reason I haven't is Arizona has closed primaries.
I want to get McCain out. He is to old and needs to retire and sit in a rocking chair.
I've also had it with that flake Flake.

The repubs in the house and senate are almost insuring there will be a strong 3rd party in 2020 due to their apparent ineptness. They pissed and moaned about ocare for so long and then they have the chance to repeal it and ------------ ZIP!! They're still wondering why trump cut a budget deal with the dems. Apparently none have read "The art of the deal".

The rank and file are worse. Real rank. Seems like the so called average Demo has moved waaaaaay to the left embracing their socialist idol Sanders and abandoning the old party ideals in favor of the alt left commies. Those are the ones I despise. They are not Americans as they do not embrace the American dream and what this country stands for.

Here is MY view.

The DEMOCRATS won everything.

If Trump gives the "dreamer" kids a path to citizenship the Democrats and their compliant media will hail it as a victory where the pressure from the people influenced him, and the Democrats & liberal GOP members united to support Obama's DACA order.

Pretty much anything that Trump caves in on, because the GOP is full of spineless liars and will not support the winning agenda he laid out and people supported, is a victory for Democrats.

Pick a topic, Democrats win the narrative because Republicans are LIARS.

Its just that simple.

Well, well, well, look what the cat dragged in.

Trump is clearly using DACA as a bargaining chip to get the goofy liberals to agree to something besides their love of ANTIFA and the ALT LEFT.

You and your laughable rank and file comedians cannot fathom the art of the deal, something your OButtHole president was totally clueless about. Of course he was totally clueless about a lot of things, now wasn't he but yet you Obama-sters still are still faithful, right?

What Trump may not understand though, is making a deal with the crooked, lying douche bag Schumer is paramount to making a deal with the devil, prolly worse. It will not take long at all for Chuckie Boy to bury the hatchet in Trump's back, because that is what the left does.

.....and yet they are no longer kids, with many in their mid to late 30's. Yet the leftie liars and the fake stream media will continue pressing the narrative these are all 10-12 year old kids lost and wandering the streets of America just waiting to get rounded up by that mean man Trump's jack booted gestapo and put in FEMA camps waiting to be put on box cars on the next train south.

:yum::yum::yum: Yup, the left wing commie blow smoke up your ass machine is working overtime on this one. :yum::yum::yum:

My 2 cents. Trump is a business man, in business younsometimes have to do things that you are forced to do to move the deal along. Trump gave the republicans a shot at helping him achieve his goals to make America great again, and they let him down, even after 8 years of bitching about Obamacare and voting over and over to repeal it when they get a President who would sign that bill in a heartbeat they failed to pass it . The republican leaders in congress are two faced liars, they say one thing at election time them fail to follow tru when it counts.
So Trump decides to take a different approach and he goes to the democrats to see what will happen. This should build a fire under the republicans and hopefully get them on Trump's side. If not a compromise with the democrats is better than a total loss with the republicans. Give him time he didn't get rich being stupid.

Funny how if anyone had mentioned that they didn't like Trump a couple weeks ago forum members would have jumped to Trump's defense. How things change.

Oh I think I was in the minority before the election when I made similar comments about not trusting him. Caught a minor amount of heat for it. But honestly felt there was no choice. Hillary is a pathological liar, and I believe that clinically she could be diagnosed as such. She is also so strongly in favor of some positions I oppose that there is no way I could vote for her. Gary Johnson, while he held positions closest to mine, comes off as a nutcase. Trump, with an honest chance of winning, was really the only one I could reluctantly go along with, but I knew there was no way I could ride the Trump train.

I didn't read any posts on this thread as negative Trump, but I am old and miss more then my share these days. :yum:

I think it is more then hilarious how Trump managed to get all the libtards and the fake stream media all in a lather over this DACA thing. The Donald sure knows how to torque their jaws. LOL.
