Ted Cruz answers Iowa farmer's question on Ethanol

I thought this was very interesting the way Cruz answered this question from an obviously angry farmer in Iowa the day of the Iowa Caucus.

The farmer kept pushing Cruz and Cruz kept pointing out all sorts of regulations that he would end with and had facts about the ethanol blends, etc. I think its a very instructive video.

I'm not a Cruz fanboy, posting in the Agriculture area, not the Political Debate forum, because I'm hoping this doesn't become an angry debate but rather we can have a discussion about ethanol.

The thing I don't agree w/ on ethanol, if true, is it takes more btu's to make it than you get out of it.

Al Gore the VP in the early '90's pushed it in order to pander to the farm vote in 2000

It has turned into a monster.

What Cruz wants to do I agree with.

Indeed. In the real world, that would be the end of the conversation about producing ethanol. But in the pandering world of politics, burning food somehow makes sense.
