Who says a gingerbread house has to include gingerbread?

A trip to Walmart provided a large variety of low carb building materials including Slim Jims, Jack Links, jerky, and nuts. I had to think a bit about what to use for mortar, but I came up with the following recipe;
Wifezilla's Low carb "Meat House" Mortar
2 8oz packages of cream cheese
1/4 cup palm oil
1 package onion soup mix
Blend all ingredients together until smooth and creamy. All to sit in the refrigerator for an hour or so to let the onion flavor blend with the cheese.

I did not follow any particular pattern to put this together. What you end up with is going to depend on the ingredients you can find at your local store. Surfing the net for photos of traditional gingerbread houses can give you ideas on how start. The most important thing is to be creative and stay away from the sugar.
Since onion soup mix makes things tend to be a little on the brown side, you can sprinkle your creation with white cheddar cheese powder...it looks like snow!

Slim Jim walls, cheese black side walls, and jerky strip roofing are featured.

As for the gingerbread house contest, I came in second. I lost to a "Cavity Castle" as I like to call it. Plenty of frosting, candy and other junk. Better luck next year.
