So since I need to re-bolt all the grousers one one carrier on my 1344, the question arises grade 5 or grade 8 bolts???

A number of places around me only carry grade 8 and have abandoned stocking grade 5.

8's won't hurt. Not sure the price difference but those gold bolts sure looks nice. It is a Tucker so stick with the best!

go to a farm store and buy low grade bolts /nylock nuts /washers by the pound----if you can break how ever many 3/8 bolts in one cleat ----your awesome---and u do know to cut old ones off with a tourch

Many of the bolts on mine had been loose for years and the bolt head had chewed deep into the grouser so I went with this grade 8 flange bolt. I found that no brick and mortar store carried 3/8 bolts in 1 1/4" and the price for these grade 8 was about $3.50/lb and cheaper than the farm store. I also used all metal lock nuts.
