Way back in 1989 I was working on Donner summit removing snow off W/B Interstate 80 . We were at a little place called Cisco Grove on the California side . It was my 1st year working for Caltrans as a temp winter employee . I was doing clean up behind a Snow Blower working the #2 lane shoulder . SP Railroad has a rail line above the freeway and a D-6 dozer working up there stated a avalanche that buried the blower and the #2 lane completely . I could see the top 3" of the antenna on the blower . The rest was under snow .About 14 feet of snow . All I heard on the radio was the operator say " UH OH" . The antenna went forward about 2 feet . Then it went back about 2 feet . Then there was an explosion of snow as the operator blew the snow right out of his way !!!!! and kept going . It was the most amazing act of snow removal I have ever witnessed . How I wish I had a video of that . Coolest dude I ever met .
