FSU QB De'Andre Johnson punches girl in bar ... should he be charged?

In one frame, Florida State University quarterback De'Andre Johnson, 19, is seen arguing with a woman at a crowded bar.
In the next frame, she raises a fist.
He grabs her arm. She attempts to hit him. He punches her in the face.
Although the surveillance video was released Monday, the incident took place June 24, inside Yianni's nightclub in Tallahassee, Florida.
On June 25, the head football coach at FSU, Jimbo Fisher, announced Johnson's indefinite suspension for a violation of athletic department policy. Fisher later said that Johnson had been dismissed from the team, effective immediately.


The former freshman quarterback is also being charged with battery.

Some longer versions of the video show that it appears he might have been pushing her out of the way to get to the bar. Or maybe he fell into her and she over reacted? Did he grab her arm and squeeze it before she shoved/punched him? If so she might have been acting in self defense???

It should be noted that Johnson can legally be in a bar in the state of Florida, he is just not allowed to legally drink.

The school cut him from the team and he may lose his scholarships.

So is he just being a punk and thug and hitting a girl, or was he justified? Should he be charged wtih battery?

Should SHE be charged?

Here is another video from CNN. Same camera, but starts at a different timepoint.

You can see she had her right hand in what might have been a fist, but it also could have been just in that position and it does not look like she was winding up to hit him, it looks more like she was just turning around and her arm was already in that position. You can see he clearly grabbed her right arm. You can see he pushed. You can see she shoved/hit toward him. You can see he popped her hard in the face.

Hard enough to bruise her cheek/eye and draw blood over her nose according to reports.

Well now that he is off the team he may never make it into the NFL.
