i just finished up my 2013 iditarod. made 6 trips to safety with up to 5 passengers, and 3 trips to the hills behind town. i had quite a marathon as the day before my snow trac launched #4 rod so i had to find a case fast. rebuilt the motor once to find out that 2 case savers were pulling tore the engine down to make some case savers out of 1/2 inch bolts drilled to 10 mm inside and put it back together. for the next morning did another 54 miles the next day and so on. my flue caught up to me put me out of commission on friday and on saturday i made my last am run to safety comming home on gps in an unforcasted whiteout. i will down losad pics to night and get them up so Big Al can enjoy this thread too.

Great pics Don!!

Looks like lots of fun, minime is growing up too, Tell him I said Hi.......Thanks for taking the time to share this with us. Most of us in the lower 48 have very little winter left to play in, we have no snow, other than the ditches..

Regards, Kirk

Hey Don
You are the highest mountain around your place.
We are watching what you doing with a lot of interest.
Try to send more photos from your trips with the ST4, and from the place that you live.
The winter lives on.

Regards Nikos

this year i had a chance to meet lance mackey quite a guy he came intoi safety and scmed a cigerette off of old tommy. than later when he came back we had an old lady from Austraulia ask him to autograph her but cheek. over all it was a good time wished this flu wouldn't have had me feeling so bad.lost a days revinue to the tune of about a grand because of it.the weather was quite nice and we aer just now getting enough snow to get out on. i have some more adventures that we are looking at with one going to big hurrah to pull some water samples. yes those are the highest hills out side of nome only about 1800 feet but there are thew kigliuk mountains farther inland that are higher and newer as far as time and are also still griowing. that hill top is anvil mountain and Bob Cat can give you the low down on it as he is monitering it with some gps equipment. all i can say is there is still a lot of gold locked up in anvil mountain.

Awesome pics!!!!!! Thank you sir!!!!!!!!!! :tiphat:

So, have you suggested an iditarod for snow cats? that would sure be interesting. No dogs needed.

i have looked at both trails the iditarod / iron dog trail, and also the syurm run trail/ origional trail the origional trail looks more probable as it starts in nenanna and avoids the narrow spots that may stop snow cats especialy in the wooded areas. my dream would be to piggy back on a syrum run year and get a groupe to gethrer to travel the trail. maybe talk one of the production compaanys in to filming it.
